I saw you today. I pretended I didn't at first and just kept walking, but something made me turn around. I waited til I was sure you wouldn't see me coming back and then I turned past the other door. I walked by you and saw you look up out of the corner of my eye. I went a few more steps and turned my head casually. There you were, looking right at me, with that familiar impish smile on your face. You waved with your the phone in your hand and said, "I was just about to text you since you didn't see me."
I laughed and walked over. "Lunch?" you asked, gesturing to the plastic container holding my leftovers."Yup. Sweet potato fries and coffee."
I tried to return the same smile, but I think it came out a little sad. Feeling uncomfortable and awkward I said, "Gotta go."
You sent a message later. I don't know why.
